About Woody’s Place

Family property and business

This is where my family and I have lived  for over 50 years. Four generations have been living here. This is our second house we have had on this property.  The first house was built in 1965 to 1966. And the building that stands here now was built in 1996.

The name Woody’s Place came about as my grandparents last name was Woodgate. My grandfather was always known as Woody. My grandmother was known as Mrs Woody. And because I lived with them for a good many years I was called young woody.

We live in the downstairs unit and are there to offer assistance and information of the area

Waterfront with great access

Woody’s is large modern waterfront duplex. It is 10 meters from the water with a council reserve in the front. This is great space for the children to play.

You will be staying in the top floor unit which is situated at road level. It has great access for all ages as there are no steps. You can drive right up to the front door to gain easy access to the unit.

Access to the water and beach is a easy walk down the side of the house to enjoy the reserve and water

It has under cover parking area for 2 cars. So you can drive in of the street and park your car within 2 meters of the front door for easy unloading of your luggage.

Located at Soldiers Point

We are located at Soldiers Point which is one of the quiet areas of Port Stephens. It is only 10 minutes from Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay. They have more of a Carnival / Mardi-Gra atmosphere where you can have fun, then return back to Woody’s to relax.

The property was Architect designed to take full advantage of the beautiful northerly aspect. And the afternoon sea breezes makes it is a pleasure to be in.

It is air conditioned and has a large open deck area with gas BBQ and outdoor setting.

Linen and bath towels are provided.

Beach towels are not provided so you will have to bring your own.
